Paradise Ridge Stables
"Show me a youth who demonstrates kindess and empathy toward animals, and I'll show you a future society with hope and promise."
--Toni Robinson
Welcome to Paradise Ridge Stables! This is a mini barn at Orsmbey Farms. PRS is owned by Danielle McLaurin, who has been in MANE for a year! PRS is mainly a barn for Tennessee Walking Horses, but there is an appendix Quarter Horse and a Morgan. Walking Horses are very versitale horses, and for more information click here.
PRS prides itself in well-kept facilities and happy, helpful people, along with well-mannered and well-taken care of horses. Horses are groomed atleast once a day and excercised atleast every other day. PRS's unique set up of covered paths allow one to ride no matter what the weather. Horses cannot be boarded here, due to MANE rules, but I will be happy to train your horses. Contact me if you would like to set something up.
PRS's famous horses include the now-deceased Poet's Design(MECS), Carolina, and Derringer. We are trying to make ourselves known for top-notch saddleseat and all-round TWHs, but since saddleseat isn't plentiful in MANE, we're having a hard time.
Facilities
Paradise Ridge has top-notch facilities. The barn is made of red bricks, with white trim. The aisles are concrete with rubber mats under crossties. Each stall contains rubber mats with a layer of shavings on top. PRS's facilities include:
- 1 outdoor ring
- 1 covered arena
- 1 barn containing 11 stalls, an office, a tack room, and a washroom
- 1 feed room, away from the barn
- 1 stall just for shavings
- 4 paddocks, 1/2 acre each
The stalls are excellent! In each stall there is:
- atleast 3 rubber mats
- 1 feed bin
- 1 water bucket
- 1 salt block
- 1 toy
- 1 stall guard
- 1 set of cross ties in each stall
- 1 halter rack on the outside
- 1 blanket rack on the outside
- shavings :-)
All horses get groomed atleast once a day, fed three times a day (7 am, 12 noon, 7 pm), watered three times a day, buckets cleaned once a day, stalls cleaned atleast once a day, turnout daily, and exercising almost daily. All stalls are 12 x 12, with oak dividers. The top part of the stalls are bars to the horses can see each other. The door's bars can be removed so that the horse can look out, or the stall door opened so that the horse has the stall guard there to keep it in.
Goals
Our goals for 1998 are:
- Make PRS known for outstanding, easy-mannered Walking Horses both in saddleseat and other disciplines.
- Make PRS well-known to all of Horse Country
- Keep all the horses healthy, happy, and in good condition
If you would like to help us conquer our goals, please, LMK if you would like to try out a Tennessee Walking Horse!
